means that, despite the adversity and the obstacles that any person faces, they keep moving, they keep trying, they keep getting back up. Resilience means for me that, despite the cards that the person has been dealt with in their life, the person who is resilient keeps hope alive that tomorrow will be a better day. Individuals who are resilient may have personal circumstances that put them at a disadvantage. However, despite their adversity, those who are resilient keep moving towards something and they don't let their circumstances or disadvantages stop them from trying and from moving on in life. Of course, all individuals, when faced with a loss, when faced with a circumstance, will make time to feel sad, to be upset, to cry tears. Sad to be upset, to cry tears and to mourn any loss they may have experienced. Now, this is a part of grieving any loss or a setback, and it's an important process that all individuals must go through. But after mourning their loss, individuals who are resilient will try to seek inspiration from whatever source that they feel energizes them. They may also, despite their circumstances, make a joke, be silly and laugh. You're like what? Be silly and laugh despite the tough circumstances that they face. Well, what I have found and observed in observing individuals who are resilient is that resilient individuals keep their heart light Despite their struggle, despite their challenges that lay in front of them. They make time for silliness. They are not serious all the time. They make time to laugh. They make time for silliness. They are not serious all the time. They make time to laugh. They make time to be silly. And that is what I wish for everyone that, despite the tough circumstances, despite the adversity, despite the losses, for you to still find time to laugh, still find time to laugh despite the struggle, despite the hurt, despite the heartbreak. I hope you make the time to laugh when the time feels right, because I wouldn't expect anyone to laugh right after a loss or an adversity, but when the time feels right, I hope you do make the time to laugh, because nothing should be able to steal away your laughter, should steal away your silliness, because that is magic. And I hope you recognize and realize that things will get better and there will be a better day ahead.
Speaker 1:I know it may be weird to tell someone right away, when they're going through stuff, that things will get better, because with tough life experiences and adversity, things don't always fall in the same exact place as they used to be. Your situation will change and you will also change. However, you have to trust that things will get better than they were yesterday. You got to hold on to what inspires you, what uplifts you, what strengthens you. For everyone, these things that inspire and strengthen them may be different. The same thing doesn't inspire everyone. So for some of you, this may be your spirituality. For others, this may be your passions in life.
Speaker 1:What energizes you, you may find in your life's work. As you, you may find in your life's work. You may find it at the temple, at the gurdwara, at the mosque, at a church, wherever your religious place of worship may be. For those who are not religious, you may find it in the tranquil space of the forest. At the end of the day, resilience can be found through many different means Through the love of your family, through trusting the universe, through love for animals. What gives you energy, inspires and uplifts you can also be found in art. It can be found in an inspiring book or as well.
Speaker 1:What energizes you and inspires you to keep moving also doesn't need to be found at a specific place. You can find this motivation to keep moving whether you're at a library, whether you're at a university, at a hospital, if you're in a homeless shelter. Anywhere you are, you should allow yourself to be open, to be inspired and energized to move towards hope. At the end of the day, resilience can come from so many sources within our lives. It is up to us to tap into what inspiration lays in front of us. Tap into what inspiration lays in front of us. The inspiration is there, but the question is are you really tuning into it? Resilience means being able to identify the resources of strength and resources of inspiration that are available to you and tuning into those resources of strength and inspiration and then utilizing those resources. So, are you tuning in to those sources of resilience? That is the question, and you really got to ask yourself if you're making full use of all those sources of inspiration and strength that are around you that you can move towards and utilize. That is the question you got to ask yourself, because that is where the magic lies.
Speaker 1:Resilience means keeping hope alive that tomorrow will be a better day. Tomorrow will be a better day, keeping that hope alive Now. Tomorrow will not be the same as yesterday, because things change as losses come into life, as adversity is faced. Nothing falls perfectly in the same perfect space in the same perfect place as it is faced. Nothing falls perfectly in the same perfect space in the same perfect place as it was before. Yet you must keep hope alive that tomorrow will be a better day than the day in which you felt pain, than the day in which you felt sadness, than the day in which you felt sadness, than the day in which you felt loss. Resilience means moving despite the uncertainties of tomorrow, despite your fears of what tomorrow may bring, because your hope is stronger than the adversities of yesterday, because your hope is stronger than what the statistics say about individuals in your position. Your hope outweighs all the things that are stacked against you.
Speaker 1:The beauty of resilience is that resilience can be found in anyone. You don't need to have a specific name to find resilience. You don't need to be of a certain ethnic background to have resilience. To find it, to find sources of strength, to find sources of inspiration, you don't need to be of a certain ethnic background. You don't need to have a certain amount of wealth or be in a place that is prestigious. Regardless of whatever place you find yourself in, you can yield sources of strength, sources of inspiration that move you towards resilience. Resilience is something that is open to everyone, and that is the beauty of resilience. So I hope this episode was helpful for you and stay tuned for my next episodes, and I hope you like this podcast and you follow. Take care.
